We are currently growing our team and looking to fill the role of Regional Manager, Western Canada. This role may be based in Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg or Vancouver.


Job description


Reporting to the Head of Operations, this individual will be responsible for overseeing station management at Wingstars airport operations across Western Canada. The Regional Manager, Western Canada will ensure that safety, compliance, and performance at these locations meet or exceed our business objectives and strategic goals for the region. In addition, this individual will collaborate with customers and our head office team to ensure the long-term success of Wingstars operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of stations operating in Western Canada, including achievement of operational safety, performance, monitor and measure service metrics along with cost management goals

  • Maintain and increase Wingstars market presence

  • Complete monthly/quarterly/annual client reporting and reviews: gather supporting analytics and use existing tools to prepare effective, relevant reporting packages to clients

  • Collaborate and develop strong working relationships with new and existing Wingstars partners, including customers, airports, consortiums, contractors, and suppliers

  • Establish and maintain the highest possible standards in the areas of safety, quality, environment, training, security, operating metrics, customer service, financial performance and competitive position, all while remaining in compliance with company standards and policies

  • Support and promote our core values of Transparency, Respect, Integrity, Innovation and Sustainability

  • Assist in the selection, development, and growth of station managers and team members, and ensure team members have a rewarding, diverse, inclusive and supportive work environment

  • Ensure stations have the tools and resources necessary to operate effectively and efficiently

  • Advocate collaboration across the Wingstars network, to continuously seek areas for improvement to develop and implement joint procedures

  • Implement marketing and outreach strategy designed to promote the Wingstars brand

  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Exemplary leadership, team member engagement and people skills

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Strong analytical, decision-making and financial management skills

  • Self-motivated, highly organized, capable of handling large scale projects with an enthusiastic approach to challenges

  • Ability to recognize and anticipate problems and gather and analyze the information necessary to resolve those problems

  • Demonstrated proficiency in identifying areas for continuous improvement

  • Experience implementing procedures and ensuring consistent service delivery

  • Ability to advocate for and influence change

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills

  • Competent with Microsoft 365 products

  • Willing and able to travel frequently

Qualifications:

  • College or University Degree (technical aviation or business degree preferred) or equivalent industry experience

  • 5-7 years progressive managerial experience

  • Thorough understanding of airport operations, inclusive of the budget process, headcount, and staffing

  • Previous experience in CDF/DDF management, glycol treatment/processing facilities, aircraft ground deicing, glycol recovery and disposal, environmental management, and/or airport operations is an asset

  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport, Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
